BUFFALO – In a perfect world, Tim Kennedy said, his summer would have played out as he had hoped.

Following a rough European season, the former Sabres forward wanted an NHL team, preferably one with an AHL affiliate in the Northeast, to sign him.

Sabres prospect Phil Varone named AHL All-Star with Amerks

Rochester Americans center Phil Varone, who’s on recall to the Buffalo Sabres, has been named to the AHL All-Star Game, the league announced today.

Varone has enjoyed another strong AHL season, compiling eight goals and a team-high 29 points in 35 games with the Amerks.

Flu bug forces the Sabres to play short-handed, utilize tough guy John Scott

South Buffalo native and former Sabres forward Tim Kennedy returned to the NHL on Tuesday, skating 15:33 in the San Jose Sharks’ 1-0 overtime loss in Nashville.
