The Buffalo Sabres this afternoon recalled defenseman Jack Rathbone from the Rochester Americans prior to their road game against the Washington Capitals.

Coach Lindy Ruff told reporters on Saturday captain Rasmus Dahlin, the Sabres’ top defenseman, will likely miss his second straight game this afternoon because of illness.

Illness will likely force Sabres’ Rasmus Dahlin to miss another game

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin will likely have to wait at least a couple of more days to play his 500th NHL game.

BUFFALO – Sabres rookie Isak Rosen understands the opportunities he has recently enjoyed are difficult to earn.

Rosen, the Rochester Americans’ leading scorer, has been recalled three times this month as the Sabres deal with a depleted forward corps.

‘Brutal’ play late in second period costs Sabres in loss to Canadiens

BUFFALO – In the waning seconds of Saturday’s second period, with skaters at four per side following coincidental minors, the Sabres went into penalty-mode killing mode.
