After stint with Rochester, goalie Devon Levi returns to Sabres on top of game

BUFFALO – In the moments following last Friday’s 3-2 win, goalie Devon Levi earned the eagle head, the award given to the Rochester Americans’ player of the game, and enjoyed a special moment with his new teammates.

BUFFALO – Well, it’s hard to say the Sabres lack consistency. Their win-one, lose-one start feels like a distant memory. These days, count on them falling behind early and losing.

BUFFALO – Sabres center Tage Thompson said he originally expected the left hand injury he suffered on Nov. 14 would sideline him four to six weeks.

“Things progressed a little quicker,” Thompson said prior to recording an assist in Tuesday’s 5-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings in KeyBank Center. “X-rays came back good.”

BUFFALO – Sabres center Tage Thompson said he originally expected the left hand injury he suffered on Nov. 14 would sideline him four to six weeks.

BUFFALO – As the Sabres’ decision-makers examined the upcoming schedule, they saw saw limited opportunities here for rookie goalie Devon Levi.

Sabres send prospect back to Amerks

The Buffalo Sabres on Friday sent rookie winger Lukas Rousek back to the Rochester Americans and placed center Tage Thompson on injured reserve to create roster space for rookie winger Zach Benson and goalie Eric Comrie.

Benson and Comrie, both of whom had been on injured reserve, played in Friday’s road game against the Winnipeg Jets.
