BUFFALO – Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff and center Tyler Ennis are missing from Sabres practice this afternoon inside the First Niagara Center. Stay tuned for an update later. Ehrhoff blocked a shot with his chest Sunday.
In addition, forward Cody McCormick, who’s practicing, is on waivers today, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
Fresh off Tuesday’s wretched 2-1 loss to Winnipeg, today could an interesting day.
Here are today’s lines from left to right:
Thomas Vanek, Cody Hodgson and Jason Pominville; Marcus Foligno, Mikhail Grigorenko and Drew Stafford; Steve Ott, Jochen Hecht and Nathan Gerbe; John Scott, McCormick and Patrick Kaleta.
Update: McCormick just left the ice.
Another update: Ehrhoff and Ennis both had maintenance days.
Check back later for more!
What does getting rid of the McCormick solve? Classy, high energy 4th liner who could win a faceoff and a fight. But we keep Gerbe who turns the puck over for game losing goals and Hecht who ducks out of hits constantly.
I’m over this team until they find some new leadership.
I agree waiving Cody for what? Cody, Scott and Kaleta were the best line yesterday. How about Stafford, Gerbe, Hecht? Trade those guys and maybe get a draft pick. Make some call ups from Rochester. Or maybe trade all three for one big player. I’m about to ask the Sabres to refund me for my center ice package. SSG. US Army.
The problem is no one is going to want Gerbe or Stafford if they play like crap.
I love Cody and he is a class act. Best of luck to him in his new team.
A BIG trade better be announced today though.
