BUFFALO – The Sabres will field the same lineup today against the Washington Capitals, meaning defenseman Alexander Sulzer will sit again.
“To make a change just to make a change doesn’t seem right,” interim Sabres coach Ted Nolan said this afternoon inside the First Niagara Center. “Defense weren’t on problem last game.”
The Sabres lost a 4-3 shootout Friday in Toronto.
Goalie Ryan Miller will likely start again, Nolan said. The Sabres will “pretty much” use the same lines, he said.
The combination of Linus Omark, Ville Leino and Marcus Foligno will skate together again. The flu kept all three from playing Monday.
“The so-called flu line, hopefully they’re all better, and Marcus can play a whole lot better than he has,” Nolan said. “He hasn’t been feeling very well.”
In other news, Nolan said he has “nothing to report” on forward Kevin Porter, who’s been out since Boston’s Johnny Boychuk hit him into the boards last Saturday.
“We still don’t know,” said Nolan, who said Porter’s “a little sore.”
“I don’t think you’re going to see him within a week,” Nolan said. “No, that’s not going to happen. He’s banged up a little bit. But not long, long term.”
