The Buffalo Sabres organization on Friday made two trades, acquiring two forwards for the Rochester Americans.
The Sabres obtained Bennett MacArthur, who has spent all season with the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, in exchange for defenseman Colton Poolman.
Not exactly the type of deal that will improve the struggling Sabres.
In an AHL trade, the Amerks acquired Jagger Joshua, who has spent this season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Nailers, in exchange for future considerations.
The 5-foot-11, 199-pound MacArthur has spent most of his career in the ECHL, compiling 24 goals and 67 points in 136 games.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Joshua has registered 10 goals, 26 points and 110 penalty minutes in 74 career games in the AHL.
MacArthur, 23, is in the final season of his entry-level NHL contract. Joshua, 25, is the final season of his two-year AHL deal.
Poolman, a free agent the Sabres signed to a one-year, two-way contract during the summer, recorded one point in five games for the Amerks.
