The Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday assigned four prospects – defenseman David Bedkowski, goalie Samuel Meloche and forwards Dylan Dumont and Doman Szongoth – to their respective junior teams.
All four participated in the Prospects Showcase games the Sabres played against the Boston Bruins on Sunday and Monday at LECOM Harborcenter.
In other news, the Rochester Americans on Tuesday agreed to terms with forward Thomas Bordeleau and goalie Talyn Boyko one-year AHL contracts.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Bordeleau spent last season with the Utica Comets and Springfield Firebirds, registering nine goals, 21 points and a minus-20 rating in 60 games.
He played 44 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks over parts of four seasons, scoring six goals and 18 points.
The Sharks drafted Bordeleau, 24, in the second round in 2020, 38th overall.
Boyko spent last season with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the New York Rangers’ AHL affiliate, and KalPa Kuopio, a Finnish team in Liiga.
The 6-foot-8, 201-pound Boyko stood out with KalPa during the postseason, registering a 5-6 record with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in 11 games.

The Rangers drafted Boyko, 23, in the fourth round in 2021, 112th overall.
The Sabres will hold the first on-ice sessions of training camp Thursday in Harborcenter. General manager Jarmo Kekalainen and coach Lindy Ruff are scheduled to address the media Wednesday.
