Injury updates on Sabres’ Sam Carrick, Alex Lyon and Conor Timmins

BUFFALO – Add one more name to the Sabres’ injury list.

Forward Sam Carrick missed Tuesday’s practice with a mid-body injury and is day to day, coach Lindy Ruff said following the session in LECOM Harborcenter.

He said Carrick’s injury might be related to the left arm injury he suffered in a fight late last season.

Ruff said Carrick and forward Justin Danforth, who’s day to day with an upper-body injury, were being examined by doctors.

Meanwhile, captain Rasmus Dahlin (upper body) and winger Jason Zucker (sports hernia) both practiced again Tuesday are expected to play Wednesday when the Sabres host the Philadelphia Flyers at KeyBank Center.

Some other injury updates from Ruff are below.

– Goalie Alex Lyon, who recently suffered a setback in his recovery from a left shoulder injury, is improving.

Ruff said he’s hopeful Lyon can accompany the Sabres on their upcoming road trip.

– Defenseman Conor Timmins, who suffered a lower-body injury when he crashed into the boards in the preseason finale, has started skating again.

“Nothing too strenuous,” Ruff said.

While Timmins is improving, Ruff said he’s “not even ready for a full practice.”
