BUFFALO – The Sabres expect captain Rasmus Dahlin to return to the team on Sunday or Monday following his stint representing Team Sweden at the Olympics.
Dahlin, 25, registered one goal and five points in five games during the Milano Cortina Games. Wednesday’s 2-1 overtime loss to Team USA in the quarterfinals eliminated Sweden from the tournament.
The defenseman also played for Sweden in the 2018 Olympics.
The Sabres began practicing Wednesday following a 12-day break without Dahlin and center Tage Thompson, who’s representing the U.S. in his first Olympics.
They have a scheduled day Saturday before returning to practice Sunday. They resume their schedule next Wednesday on the road against the New Jersey Devils.
