Vanek missing from practice; Sabres recall Pardy with Sulzer sidelined

BUFFALO – Leading scorer Thomas Vanek and defenseman Alexander Sulzer, who left Saturday’s 4-0 loss to the New York Islanders, are missing from Sabres practice this morning inside the First Niagara Center.

With Sulzer (lower body) and defenseman Jordan Leopold (hand) sidelined, the Sabres have recalled Adam Pardy from Rochester. He’s practicing.

Stay tuned for updates. Vanek’s known for getting beat up and resting occasionally. Tough guy John Scott is practicing in Vanek’s place beside Cody Hodgson and Jason Pominville. Relax, Sabres fans, he won’t be skating there during a game.

  1. The BuffaloSabres need to shake the “hell” out of the second, third, and forth lines. Can’t hurt to try, seems like thats the only thing yhey haven’t tried yet.

  2. Miller appears ready to move on, Regehr, Leopold, Pommer, maybe even Vanek could be tired of it. How long will it take for Ott, before he wishes he weren’t here either? I’m sure this much losing can’t be good for the psyche of a young Tyler Myers or Mikail Grigorenko. For me, it brightly appears the towel has been thrown in on this season. OR HAS THE CLOCK BEGUN TICKING FOR Darcy Regier. “WE LIVE HOCKEY”, – just not this brand.
