Two established scoring forwards should be joining the Rochester Americans next season.
The Buffalo Sabres on Thursday signed Aidan McDonough to a one-year, two-way contract. Meanwhile, veteran Matthew Peca inked a two-year AHL deal.
McDonough, 26, played with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season on an AHL contract, setting career highs across the board by registering 23 goals, a team-high 44 points, a plus-18 rating and 24 penalty minutes in 65 games.
He will receive $850,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the minors, according to Puckpedia.com, with $325,000 guaranteed.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound McDonough has compiled 49 goals, 79 points and 49 penalty minutes in 139 career AHL contests.
He played six games for the Vancouver Canucks in 2022-23 after leaving Northeastern University, scoring one goal and three points.
The Canucks drafted him in the seventh round in 2019, 195th overall.
Peca, 33, played with the Springfield Thunderbirds and Syracuse Crunch last season on an AHL contract, recording 12 goals, 47 points, a minus-12 rating and 20 penalty minutes in 63 games.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Peca has compiled 128 goals, 404 points and 133 penalty minutes in 544 career AHL contests.
He has played 83 NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues, scoring six goals and 21 points.
The Lightning drafted him in the seventh round in 2011, 201st overall.
