The Buffalo Sabres on Monday re-signed Jeremy Davies, whose 11 goals led all Rochester Americans defensemen last season, to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 in the NHL.
Davies, 26, played one game with the Sabres last season, recording zero points.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Davies enjoyed another stellar offensive season, recording 23 points in 66 games. He ranked eighth among AHL defensemen in goals scored. His 90 penalty minutes also led the Amerks.
He added one goal and six points in 14 outings in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Overall, he has compiled 21 goals and 91 points in 191 career AHL games. The Sabres signed him last year following three seasons in the Nashville Predators organization.
The Northeastern product registered three assists in 16 games over parts of two years with the Predators.
