Injured Alex Tuch could play this week; Sabres send prospect to Amerks

BUFFALO – Sabres winger Alex Tuch, who has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, could return for Friday’s road game against the Winnipeg Jets, coach Don Granato said.

“I mentioned from the outset, he’s day to day so the issue he’s dealing with could have resolved in, say, 48 hours,” Granato said following Monday’s practice in KeyBank Center. “… He is waiting for the results so he has full mobility and full motion.”

Tuch has missed the last two games.

Meanwhile, rookie wingers Zach Benson (lower body) and Brandon Biro (upper body) both returned to practice Monday. The Sabres sent Biro, who scored two goals in two games during his recall, back to the Rochester Americans later in the day.

In other news, center Peyton Krebs missed Saturday’s 4-0 road loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins because of a family matter, according to a team spokesperson. Krebs practiced Monday.

The Sabres host the Boston Bruins tonight.

  1. I think Krebs and Olluffson would both benefit with another tour of Rochester.

    1. Should have kept Savoie and sent Benson down. Benson had a nice preseason, but he hasn’t shown much in the regular season, IMO
