Winger Lukas Rousek has left the Buffalo Sabres organization for the Swedish Hockey League.
HV71, a team based in Jönköping, today announced Rousek has signed a two-year contract. He was set to become a restricted free agent this offseason.
Rousek, 26, recently starred for the Rochester Americans during the Calder Cup Playoffs, scoring two goals and eight points in seven games before the Laval Rocket eliminated them Sunday.
The Czech played 17 NHL games over parts of two years, scoring one goal and four points. He impressed the Sabres enough he earned a one-way NHL contract for 2024-25.
Still, he spent the entire campaign in the AHL, registering seven goals and 42 points in 72 games.
Overall, Rousek compiled 34 goals and 143 points in 212 games in four seasons with the Amerks.
The Sabres drafted him in the sixth round in 2019, 160th overall.
In other news, Rochester defenseman Erik Brannstrom has signed a three-year contract with the Lausanne Hockey Club, a team in the Swiss National League.
The Swede was also set to become a restricted free agent this offseason.
Brannstrom scored five goals and seven points in 13 games for the Amerks. However, he became a healthy scratch in the postseason, making just one appearance.
The Sabres acquired Brannstrom, 25, from the New York Rangers on March 7 in exchange for winger Nicolas Aube-Kubel.
