Sabres to open training camp Sept. 23 at HarborCenter

BUFFALO – The Sabres will open training camp Sept. 23 in a different venue than past years, the team announced this afternoon.

HarborCenter, the Sabres’ two-rink practice facility they recently used for development camp, will host the early sessions of training camp to start the 2016-17 season. The sessions are free and open to the public. Practices will move to the First Niagara Center once the exhibition schedule starts.

Sabres veterans will report for physicals and testing Sept. 22.

HarborCenter will also host Sabres rookie camp and the team’s Prospects Challenge tournament starting next Friday.

A full roster for the main camp is below. Here is the early schedule for camp:

Friday, Sept. 23

Session one: 9 – 9:45 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)

Scrimmage: 9:50 – 10:35 a.m. (First Niagara Rink)

Session two: 10:40 – 11:25 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)

Session three: 12:50 – 2 p.m. (First Niagara Rink)

Saturday, Sept. 24

Session one: 9 – 9:45 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)

Scrimmage: 9:50 – 10:35 a.m. (First Niagara Rink)

Session two: 10:40 – 11:25 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)

Session three: 12:50 – 2 p.m. (First Niagara Rink)
