Sabres claim Jordan Nolan off waivers

BUFFALO – The Sabres claimed forward Jordan Nolan off waivers today from the Los Angeles Kings.

Nolan, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, is the son of former Sabres coach Ted Nolan.

The 6-foot-3, 219-pound Jordan Nolan has mostly been a fourth-liner or depth player with the Kings, who drafted him in the seventh round, 186th overall, in 2009.

“We’re happy to bring Jordan into the mix,” Sabres general manager Jason Botterill said in a statement. “His size and speed, along with his experience with such a successful organization like the Kings, make him an asset to the organization.”

Nolan has compiled 20 goals, 42 points and 292 penalty minutes in 264 NHL games since 2011-12.

He won Cups in 2012 and 2014.
