Report: Sabres to make uniform changes next season

The Buffalo Sabres are one of 12 NHL teams that will make changes to their uniform next season, according to sportslogos.net.

Don’t, however, expect a big overhaul. The changes could be as small as a few tweaks. The Sabres will keep their primary logo.

The changes will come with the NHL’s switch from Reebok to Adidas as their jersey manufacturer in 2017-18.

The Sabres have worn their current blue home jersey with the charging Buffalo and crossed swords since 2008-09, when it was unveiled as their third jersey during the four-year run of the wildly unpopular “slug” logo. The Sabres installed the blue charging Buffalo and a white road version as their main tops in 2010-11.

The Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and Ottawa Senators will also make changes to their uniform.

  1. Absolutely have to keep the Buffalo(animal) and the crossed Swords(Sabres). No sports team anyone knows of has the place where the team originates at. The team nickname is also shown. We are unique with both city/team and nickname.

    1. I agree. I would like to see them ditch the gold n navy along with that terrible silver underarm n lining. Switch back to royal blue. Incorporate white n gray/silver as the secondary colors. Make it like the original sabres jersey minus gold.

  2. Please get rid of the stupid, ugly armpit stains on the current sweaters….Who was the mental “giant” that came up with that one? Probably that idiot Quinn!!!!
