Sabres’ Victor Olofsson, Kyle Okposo to return against Blue Jackets

BUFFALO – Sabres wingers Victor Olofsson and Kyle Okposo will return from their injuries tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, coach Ralph Krueger said.

A lower-body injury has sidelined Olofsson, one of the NHL’s top rookies, the last 15 games. Meanwhile, an upper-body injury has shelved Okposo the past six games.

In other lineup news, an upper-body injury will sideline forward Marcus Johansson tonight. Krueger said Johansson is day-to-day.

Johansson enjoyed a stellar outing in Tuesday’s 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings, ending a 14-game goal drought and adding an assist.

“It is definitely a pity to see (Johansson) injured, and he’s really disappointed, too,” Krueger said inside KeyBank Center. “He had really a breakout kind of game where you thought, ‘OK, here we go,’ and he gets paused from injury.”

Krueger said seven defensemen and 12 forwards will take warm-ups tonight. A lineup will be finalized later.

Goalie Carter Hutton will start, his second straight nod.

Update: The Sabres sent winger Scott Wilson back to the Rochester Americans this afternoon.

Wilson, 27, scored one goal in three outings during his recall.
