Sabres sign Rasmus Dahlin to entry-level contract

BUFFALO – The Sabres have signed first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced today.

Dahlin, perhaps the best defense prospect in decades, is expected to jump into the lineup next season.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Dahlin, 18, participated in development camp late last month, drawing huge crowds and turning heads.

On June 22, Dahlin became the third player in Sabres history drafted first, joining centers Gilbert Perreault (1970) and Pierre Turgeon (1987).
