Sabres recall Dan Catenacci from Amerks

BUFFALO – Sabres winger Marcus Foligno suffered a lower-body injury during his last shift in Thursday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins and will likely miss tonight’s rematch in Boston, coach Dan Bylsma said.

To replace Foligno, the Sabres recalled forward Dan Catenacci from the Rochester Americans on Friday. Catenacci, 22, could make his NHL debut tonight.

Foligno’s day-to-day, Bylsma said Friday following the Sabres’ optional practice inside HarborCenter.

“I don’t anticipate it will be week-to-week,” he said.

Catenacci has often been one of the Sabres’ overlooked prospects. He has seven goals and 16 points in 36 games for the Amerks, including two goals and seven points in the last seven contests. Catenacci’s in his third AHL season.

The 2011 third-round pick had 15 goals and 29 points in 68 games last season, when he scored 12 times in his final 38 appearances. Catenacci played his first NHL preseason game in September.

In other news, winger Tyler Ennis, out since Dec. 30 with what is believed to be a concussion, skated on his own Friday. Ennis “still can’t go all out,” Bylsma said.

“He’s gone through some progression,” he said.

Ennis also skated Thursday, Bylsma said.
