Sabres prospect Linus Ullmark named AHL Player of Week

Two wins and a sterling 1.46 goals-against average helped Rochester Americans goalie Linus Ullmark earn AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, the league announced today.

The Swede stopped 65 of 68 shots (a .956 save percentage) in two starts, beating the Belleville Senators and Laval Rocket.

The Buffalo Sabres prospect is 14-4-3 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in 22 games this season. He’s tied for the AHL lead in wins and ranks first in saves (623) and minutes played (1,243).

Ullmark has played 21 games with the Sabres.
