Sabres re-sign Andrew Oglevie to two-year contract

 

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed winger Andrew Oglevie to a two-year, $1.5 million contract, the team announced today.

The Notre Dame product was a restricted free agent. He has spent the last two seasons with the Rochester Americans.

Oglevie scored 15 times in 55 games last season, tying him with Jean-Sebastien Dea for the Amerks’ goal-scoring lead. Oglevie’s 29 points ranked fourth on the team.

Sabres’ decision to fire Amerks coach Chris Taylor looks foolish

In 2017, former general manager Jason Botterill and his assistant, Randy Sexton, took an unusual first step in rebuilding the Buffalo Sabres’ struggling AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

Barely a year after the Sabres’ previous regime had let Chris Taylor go as an assistant coach from the Amerks, Botterill and Sexton, who also served as Rochester’s GM, rehired him as head coach.

Kyle Okposo accompanies Sabres on road trip

BUFFALO – Winger Kyle Okposo, out since suffering a concussion Nov. 16, accompanied the Sabres on their three-game road trip, which begins Thursday against the Calgary Flames.

BUFFALO – The Sabres sent winger Curtis Lazar, a healthy scratch the last four games, back to the Rochester Americans this morning.
