Amerks’ Cole Schneider, Linus Ullmark named to AHL All-Star roster

Rochester Americans forward Cole Schneider and goalie Linus Ullmark have been named to the AHL North Division All-Star roster, the league announced today.

Both players have spent time with the Buffalo Sabres.

Schneider, a Williamsville native and St. Joe’s graduate, leads the Amerks and ranks second in the AHL with 34 points in 28 games. His 14 goals rank second on the team and seventh in the league.

Schneider, 26, has 12 multi-point games his season, including two four-point contests.

He played four games with the Sabres earlier this season, recording his first NHL point.

Ullmark, meanwhile, is 13-12-1 with a 3.00 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 26 games. Buffalo’s top goalie prospect has started six straight contests. He leads AHL netminders with 731 saves and 1,502 minutes played and ranks fifth in wins.

The Swede, 23, spent one game in the NHL this season. He played 20 contests with the Sabres as a rookie in 2015-16.

The AHL All-Star Classic is Jan. 30 in Allentown, Pa.
